Once upon a time, in the imperial time of Brasil, there was a kid.

A kid, from the royal family of Brasil, that has always been very demanding regarding meals.

Isabel Princess’s son was born with disabilities and he required special attention.

This fact was uncovered by a legend that regards the origin of coxinhas, famous typical food from Brazil.

Legend tells that the Princess’s son was so picky when it came to food, that he would only have chicken thighs.

One day, the royal family was visiting propriety in Morro Azul, and the cook had few chickens left on the farm to fulfill the son's requirements, and therefore almost no chicken thighs to feed the poor son.

The cook came up with an extraordinary idea to “fool” the royal’s son.

He worked the shredded chicken by shaping a little chicken thigh that looked like the real one.

Coxinha is called this way simply because it resembles the shape of the chicken thigh. Funny right?

In the end, the coxinha became so famous around the city as well as the whole Brasil and eventually became one of the most popular food.

As usual, I made a visual layout that highlights all the main points of Coxinha’s origin in a structured way.

Ps. I can assure you; once you try it, you will understand why it is so famous. 😄

I hope you enjoyed discover Coxinha with me, and if you want to know more feel free to send a message!
